DECA RAP - Spring 2009

I’m a young entrepreneur with amazing talent.
In order to be the best you must take Mr. Pizzo’s challenge!
We got them buttons mean mugging
Tighten up one dollar ain’t nothing!
Offering community service hours like he’s got special powers
DECA is helping people in need,
this is like planting a seed,
Cuz your doing such a good deed.

Money making is my thing, best believe that savage,
I’m out there working while your at home eatin a big but sandwich.
Been at lunch tryna to hustle for the low,
Running my own business cuz you know I’m bout to blow.

Ya better button-up boy, my money down to my feet,
Lets get this money my DECA members gotta eat.
Finance and Marketing class is a success… I am too
I love to make money so I can pay my DECA dues.

I use to cut class actin up to get rich
I was living that life until one of them boyz messed up in snitched
In this world making money gotta a lot trix
I’m making this money like a marketing mix
Name another group working like we do,
Fly too plus we got money like the wild zoo.
Being in DECA got my skills on point,
Getting paid at Deerfield High I can buy the whole joint!

“Forming today the leaders of tomorrow” like it’s a bad habit if you ain’t having it
We need knowledge to get into college, but its too expensive
So DECA offers job placement assistance and college grants
And all you need is a little perseverance
Consistency, good attitude, community service and teamwork

The Gold Seal in my sight makes my future look bright,
Its gonna take me to the top under the Friday night lights.
We need a notion to get that Gold Seal Endorsement,
Endorsement, Enforcement, Enchantment,
Its more than you and me,
More than a club, its an academy!
Now its your turn to get up in the mix
To promote your skills and learn all them tricks…

Muscular Dystrophy Association - Summer Camp

I am writing you because the 2009 MDA Summer Camp is coming up on July 26-31st. I know that you guys participated in our Shamrock program (thank you so much), and we are in need of counselors for our Summer Camp. Summer camp is a lot of fun and a very rewarding experience for those involved. Below is a brief description of MDA Summer Camp and the volunteer positions.

MDA Summer Camp: Campers at MDA Summer camp are young people ages 6-17 who are affected by neuromuscular disease. Campers attend week-long sessions organized by MDA volunteers and staff. Camp activities are geared to the abilities of campers and may include fishing, swimming, baseball and dancing. Less physically demanding activities include arts and crafts, nature study, talent shows, cookouts and entertainment.

Volunteer counselors: (who must be at least 16 years old) receive an orientation and training that includes wheelchair techniques, lifting and transfers, personal hygiene, and emergency procedures. The primary responsibility of each counselor is to provide both physical and psychological support to their camper, thereby helping them to enjoy camp. Medical staff are available throughout the week to meet any healthcare needs that may arise.

Camp Dates: July 26 - July 31

Camp Locations: Rotary's Camp Florida in Brandon

If you could get this information out to the kids at your school, I would be extremely grateful. Please contact me if you have any questions or need any additional information at 954-971-3327. Interested volunteers can also reach me at that number. We are trying to secure volunteers by May 15th, so please relay that information as well. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Thank you,
